Spain´s National Association of University Programmes for Older Adults (Spanish acronym: AEPUM)
has established itself as an association with university-oriented goals that has as its main aim to structure and promote
university educational programmes and thus contribute to older adults’ training and cultural development.
In order to achieve those aims, the Association seeks to promote and develop dialogue and communication
between Universities, Public Administrations and the private sector, and has therefore considered it essential to create
an institutional web page that can become a meeting point for everyone interested in lifelong learning, providing transparent
information and allowing effective collaboration between AEPUM members and honorary partners.
The availability of information on social development and educational policies as well as the access to it in
the different countries is becoming increasingly obvious and has a clear reflection on the Internet. The new Information
and Communication Technologies (ICT) are becoming more and more important in the European Union, which is why we
see this web page as a useful instrument that will help to spread the use of those new technologies among older adults.
In this way, many barriers and inequalities will be removed and older adults will be able to assume an active role in this technological development process.
Therefore, from this web page, we encourage you to take part in our work initiatives, reflections, proposals and debates in the hope of receiving
the visits and contributions of all those who work for the consolidation of lifelong learning within the framework of the European Higher Education Space.
